Welcome
to our website. We began developing materials that have been put on
this website back in 2013, when our older son turned two and we ramped
up his exposure to different subject matters. This site is intended to
provide supplementary material for parents in teaching their kids about
Science, Math, Reading and STEM (A not forgotten just a secondary focus
in most labs). Let us take you through the different tabs we have
developed and what each one is intended for:
Reading Practice
- This page is intended to help your kids with reading. Using the Dolch
Sight Words list we created documents where you and your child work
through reading a list of 5 words (or so) at a time randomly and in
different fonts. This allows for repetition of a few words over and over
to help your child begin to remember what they are seeing.
Math Practice - Just like with our reading practice page, this page focuses on
repetition of basic math functions to aid your child in learning how to
add, subtract, and multiply numbers. The documents go through and show a
basic math function then on the next page provide the answer. This way
your child can work through the math problem and see if they are able to
get the correct answer.
STEM Club Basics
- This is the introductory page for STEM Club. We created a STEM Club
for our son's school and wanted to aid others in creating their own STEM
Clubs at other schools. This page provides the beginning content for
any STEM Club session and can be used in conjunction with the STEM Club
Lab groups shown below to provide students with an engaging and amazing
STEM Club experience in your school.
STEM Club Labs - Group 1 - This is the first set of 16 STEM labs that we created. On this page you will find a basic description of each lab with a link to the lab post itself (click on the title of the lab), a parent/teacher lab write up that contains simple tips and tricks for that specific lab, a lab glossary that goes over basic words that were introduced in the lab, and other documents that have been created for each individual lab.
