Bios for Writers


Bio for Sara Gladem-Burr

Sara Gladem-Burr is an entrepreneur with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering and a minor in Biochemistry from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Sara’s peer-reviewed work in stem cell research has been published and she has worked to help develop new methods for instruction in reading and mathematics. Sara has been a volunteer in the classroom for the last three academic years at Eisenhower Elementary School and Mapleton Early Childhood Center. Sara has historically been a member of the MECC Parent Council, Boulder Valley School District-Parent Council and Early Childhood Education Council. Currently the owner and president of an innovative tie dye company, Double T Designs, Sara is developing new methods of reading, mathematics, and science instruction for K-12 under a new venture called Turing’s Toy Box that will launch over the next two years while continuing the expansion of Double T Designs. Bio for Mike Burr

Mike Burr is a data scientist and entrepreneur with master’s degrees in business/accounting and engineering management with minors in applied mathematics, economics, and Russian studies from CU Boulder. Mike works to improve organizational processes and strategy through the use of research/survey/assessment design, experimental and nonexperimental data collection/analysis, organizational psychology, and research in operations, marketing, and education. In addition to a full time role as a software data scientist and supportive parent, Mike takes an active role in the technology and marketing efforts of Double T Designs and will be actively supporting the launch of Turing’s Toy Box over the next two years to redefine reading, math, and science education in the K-12 grades (producing state of the art methods and technologies that accelerate students and align with national standards including Common Core).
