For this lab we did 4 lab stations that showed the kids how different ocean currents could be created. Each lab is fairly self-explanatory but it was important to print out the lab instructions with the information about each station for the kids. It is also important to make sure the kids are not too zealous with the oil, canola oil may be cheap (thus good for STEM club), but it does not have a good color contrast with the water and many kids in our lab had trouble seeing the oil, thus they poured most of the bottle out, making a huge mess. I suggest you use a slightly stronger colored oil, like sesame or olive oil to have the kids see it better, may be a bit more expensive but you will use a lot less oil overall and have a much easier time cleaning up the oil.
