Measurement Glossary



Length – the distance of a something, i.e. the distance from your feet to your head is your height and is a length

Weight/Mass – for this lab used interchangeably (for other sciences can be completely different measurements, but will get into that in future experiments) and has to do with how much matter an object is made up of

Temperature – is the level of excitement of an atom

Volume – length multiplied by height multiplied by depth, a three-dimensional measurement of an object

Time - the indefinite progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future

Measurement – a way of quantifying something and putting something into specific units that other people can understand
