This was a super fun lab. We took all of the different building and many of the different lab materials we used over the semester and let the kids go to town in the attempt to build a class wide chain reaction. The kids should be broken up into groups of 2-3 and given a set space to build their chain reaction. From there they must work with the teams before and after them to connect their chain reactions together and see if they can build their own version of a Rube-Goldberg machine. We failed on all accounts but had a lot of fun building it and learning from our mistakes.
